In April, 2024, Rep. Doris Matsui, Rep. Ami Bera, and Senator Alex Padilla voted to continue the killing of civilians in Gaza by giving Israel another $26 billion.
MATSUI
In response to the 72-hour vigil for Gaza held at the Federal Building this past week, Matsui told KCRA that she supports a ceasefire. However, if she really supported a ceasefire, she would not be voting to send more money and weapons to Israel. Tell her to demand an end to U.S. weapons transfers and all military aid to Israel.
Matsui also claims she wants humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, but voted to cut off aid to UNWRA, the United Nations agency that has been providing aid to Gaza refugees. Tell her to demand that U.S. aid to UNWRA be reinstated.
Matsui also continues to refused to meet with her constituents that oppose the genocide in Gaza.

BERA
Bera also claims he is concerned about civilian deaths but votes to send money that he knows will be used to kill civilians.

Matsui, Bera, and Padilla are well aware of Israel’s killing of civilians and intention to kill more. They join Israel in ignoring the International Court of Justice ruling on May 24, 2024 that Israel must halt its assault on Rafah. Two days later, the Israeli military carried out a massacre in Rafah, bombing displaced families huddled in tents, burning alive and and dismembering over 45 people.
On Mothers’s Day, the Sacramento Regional Coaliton for Palestinian Rights sent a letter to Rep. Doris Matsui asking if she would represent the majority of her constituents and “take a stand to stop Israel’s killing of mothers, children, and other civilians in Gaza by calling for an end to U.S. weapons transfers to Israel.” She responded stating that she will “continue to support diplomatic efforts to achieve a lasting resolution”. Evidentally Matsui does not understand that funding the killing of civilians is not diplomacy. Tell her bombs are not diplomacy, killing mothers and children is not humanitarian aid, and peace is not genocide. Tell her to demand an end to U.S. weapons to Israel.
Rep. Doris Matsui, who represents most of Sacramento and Elk Grove in Congress, is fully endorsing the killing of mothers and children in Gaza by voting last month to give Israel another $26 billion to continue its ethnic cleansing of Gaza. In the past year, Matsui took almost $12,000 from AIPAC, the Israeli lobby, in addition to significant corporate donations.
