Background
Many children were killed in the brutal Oct. 7 attacks that left over 1,400 Israelis mostly civilians, including children, dead. Over 10,000 Palestinians, mostly civilians and including thousands of children, have now been killed in Israel’s massive bombardment and ground invasion of Gaza. Attacks on civilians are serious war crimes.
The latest horrors are not occurring in a vacuum. They follow decades of occupation and ethnic cleansing by Israel, turning the Gaza Strip into an “open-air prison” inhabited mostly by refugees forced from their homes in what became Israel. Israel’s agenda now is to further the process by pushing all Palestinians out of Gaza into Egypt. This is ethnic cleansing and genocide – a violation of international law and contrary to any concept of human morality.
