SB 1287 is an attempt to silence students speaking up and protesting about Israel’s genocide in Gaza. It would allow CA colleges and universities to come up with their own rules about what students can say. In the short term, this would serve to intimate students, in the long run, it would be challenged as unconstitutional – costing schools and taxpayers money that should be going for student education.
Below are statements that have been issued in opposition to SB 1287.
