Boycotting, divesting and sanctioning (BDS) is a non-violent tactic to get Israel to end its violations of international law and human rights. BDS tactics were used successfully to end apartheid in South Africa.

The BDS movement calls for a boycott of all the products of all Israeli — and international — companies that are involved in Israel’s violations of Palestinian rights. Virtually all Israeli companies are complicit to some degree in Israel’s system of occupation and apartheid. Below are some of the current BDS campaigns for products available in the Sacramento Area.

Chevron
Sign petition to Boycott Chevron which is profiting from the genocide on Gaza. Chevron’s “extraction activities generate billions of dollars in revenue for apartheid Israel and its war chest, helping to fund the ongoing genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza,” reports the Boycott National Committee.

Israeli Products at Trader Joe’s
Sign petition asking Trader Joes’s to stop selling Israeli products including Israeli feta, Bamba snacks, frozen Dorot herbs, and Gva’ot wine.

Sadaf

Sabra Humus
Sabra is owned by Pepsi-cola and the Strauss Group, which has provided funding and support to the Israeli military. Click for more info.

Maersk
The Palestinian Youth Movement’s campaign to Cut Ties with Genocide is a fight against Maersk, one of the world’s largest shipping and logistics companies that directly facilitates the weapons trade. Without Maersk, Israel would not have the weapons to commit its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

Hewlett/Packard
Hewlett Packard helps run the biometric ID system that Israel uses to restrict Palestinian movement. For more information, see https://bdsmovement.net/boycott-hp.

Intel
Sign to send a letter to Intel’s Board of Directors demanding they cancel their planned $25 billion factory in Israel and end their complicity in genocide. Despite Israel’s livestreamed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and the nosediving international investment and confidence in its hi-tech sector (investment in 2023 down by 74%), Intel (INTC) has announced plans to build a $25 billion chipmaking factory in Israel, expanding its already large factory. Intel has also committed to buying $16.6 billion worth of goods and services from Israeli suppliers over the next decade. The new plant is due to open in 2028 and operate through 2035. Click for more info.

Soda Stream
Soda Steam is actively complicit in Israel’s policy of displacing the indigenous Bedouin-Palestinian citizens of Israel in the Naqab (Negev). SodaStream have a long history of mistreatment of and discrimination against Palestinian workers.
